Bam! Just like that your first three-day weekend in a long while has arrived. You may be panicked, but worry not, there is plenty of stuff for you to do around Milwaukee this week.
The 5th Annual Third Ward Art Festival is happening this weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM – 6 PM! Art from over 140 juried artists, 36 of whom are from Wisconsin, will be sold up and down the street. With items from ceramics to furniture being sold, you are bound to find something aesthetic that piques your interest. Also, Parisian singer Michelet and guitar duo Patchouli will be serenading you at points throughout the fest! Best part about it? It’s free for admission! There will be a ton of different local restaurant food being sold, so go snag some grub and eat lunch alfresco downtown. Don’t forget to bring the kids along either! There will be some very fun art activities that will allow them to brush up on their skills. You are bound to have a very unique experience if you meander down to The Historic Third Ward this weekend.
Want to start off your weekend by kicking out the jams? Look no further. The Lunar Series, presented by Penrod, is on and poppin’ this Friday! Head to the Milwaukee Athletic Club from 6PM-11PM for some libations, dancing, and socializing. Bands Ruth B8R Ginsburg and Moses will be playing from 7-9:30, and afterwards there will be a DJ set so you can end your night dancing. Tickets are only $5.00, and for that price you’re getting far more than you bargained for. This party is 21+, so hit up this rooftop and get crazy with your friends on Friday. You won’t regret it.
Rev those engines and make your way to any one of the many places hosting the Milwaukee Rally presented by Harley Davidson! It’s going to be held through Monday at 5PM, and it is absolutely jam packed with fun activities. Some of those include street parties, bike nights, tattoo contests, and even performances from various bands including rock legends Grand Funk Railroad! With five vendor villages selling goods, food, and beer, this ought to be one hell of a celebration. If your weekends aren’t complete without some BBQ, then you’re in luck. The Big Gig BBQ, presented by Meijer, at Henry Maier Festival Grounds will give you the ability to pig out as much as you want! An officially sanctioned event of the Milwaukee Rally, for $15.00 you’ll get even more music and beer (Leinenkugle’s, Miller Lite, Blue Moon) here. It really does seem like it’s going to be a delicious weekend, doesn’t it? Grab those handle bars and don’t look back until you’ve made it.
Have you been in the market for literally everything? Maxwell Street Days is the place for you. A Cedarburg Volunteer Fire Department tradition for over 40 years, you can find anything from antiques to produce on Sunday from 6AM-2PM at this flea market. Per usual, there will be food, beverages, and live music throughout the day! So if you’re privy to the lingo, maybe flea your humble abode and head out to Cedarburg Sunday to acquire some great finds!
I can’t forget to tell you about one of my favorite events – the grilled cheese and beer tasting at Uber Tap Room this coming Wednesday. This is exactly what it sounds like, but better because everything is from Wisconsin! This will be a satiating and fulfilling experience, you have my word. Let’s be honest, nothing can really go wrong when cheese is involved. A ticket is $20.00 so grab yours today. Mark this on your calendars and don’t forget to keep it cheesy!
On a sad and final note, the last Jazz in the park is tonight! Don’t be the person who goofed and never even went to one. Now is the chance to redeem yourself!
Just like that – your week is now chock full of things to do.
